Nice shots, I love that old architecture. Back in the day it seems they spent the money on education. ;)

Bristol Grammar School. Founded in 1532 but the great hall in these photos was built in 1879. Been a big part of my life for the last 7 years

I went to Steyning Grammar School which was founded in 1614 although there was a school on the site long before that. The great hall is still in use today but not as impressive as yours.

Sounds like an interesting building...I love the 1867 report -
"A crazy wooden building which has been kept from falling down by well-timed repairs. No amount of money, however, spent on near-repairs would make it fit for its purpose."

Wonderful. I attend a 'run-of-the-mill' Grammar in Lincolnshire. I believe it was founded in 1167 although the current site has been in use since 1554.

no way near my school

but then again my school was going to be demolished and put to housing but now i dont know
