Grumpy's bus tours - Seaford

It's been a while since I posted one of my tours. Now I have my free bus pass I take full advantage of it to save the stress & expense of driving. Yesterday was so nice after a week of unsettled weather that I decided to go back to the cliffs at Seaford. The last time I went there it was rather misty & not ideal for decent photos.

This is Telscombe Cliffs just outside Brighton. I took this shot from the top of a number 12 double-decker bus which run along the coast road between Brighton & Eastbourne every 10 minutes or so. I managed to bag the front seat. 8-)

We finally arrive at Seaford. There's a large breeding colony of Kittiwakes here which is one of the reasons for my visit. They'll soon be on their way to pastures new. I'm going to walk along the cliff tops to Cuckmere Haven about 3 miles away.

On top of the cliffs looking back the way I came. The weather is perfect. That's Newhaven Harbour in the distance with the cliffs in the first shot in the background. I live about 30 miles thataway.

The first sight of the Seven Sisters from Seaford Head. Quite breathtaking.

Looking across Cuckmere Haven from the Coastguard Cottages towards the Seven Sisters. This is one of the most painted & photographed views in East Sussex.

Wow Doug, what a beautiful landscape!  You captured it nicely in your shots.  Those cliffs look amazing against the turquoise water.

Beautiful.  And it's always nice to be able to take care of the drinking and leave the driving to someone else... ;D

One of the most beautiful parts of the country. All of the south coast is picture perfect though. I fear that the wash (close to where I live in Lincolnshire) does not compare with the rolling hills, white cliffs and blue seas!
