Tuesday gliding- pt 1 of 2

Despite passing t-storms, we got some flying in yesterday... I made one solo hop before things got ugly. Looked very promising, but all the thermals were petering out at about 1500.

After waiting for a cell to pass thru, we resumed. A bit of a crosswind at that point, so I went up as a passenger with JP flying from the back (I would never take pics on tow while solo, very foolish thing to do).

Andy had the 1-26 up for a while, but came back earlier than usual due to disappointing conditions.

The CAP cadets were doing pattern work...

Shame you didn't get chance to soar up to cloud base with those nice big CB's... Do you have much airspace restriction around you?

We're quite close to the outer tier of the Class B, but it's easy enough to avoid that by not venturing far NE.
There just wasn't any reliable lift above 1500-2000, though... nothing as impressive as those clouds seen in the distance, just small gray ones that kept the ground from warming up much. We had one towering Cb come thru, but of course we had to stop until it passed because it was very mature and full of rain and lightning.  :o

Nice pics Sean.

Doesn't look like the greatest weather to be gliding in!!
