Fishkeeping.

Well I've well and truly got the bug now, I recently obtained a 180 litre tank from the internet for nothing!! Here's a few pics in chronological order, I aim to get fish in there by mid-August at the latest . I'm looking at Cichlids or maybe Discus, not decided yet but it'll be an aquarium to be proud of!

June 11th after a bloody good clean:

June 25th after adding substrate and plants... looking a bit murky:

Today after adding new pump, light and heater, clearing up well!:

Nice tank... Discus need a very calm tank and are not very hardy. Now Cichlids on the other hand are very hard fish and tough. and you will have more activity.

I dont have a tank running right now had 2 for a while and my special brakish tank i miss .. my puffers and scats and bubble be gobies. and my monos  that tank turned into my jail for bad fish from my main tank. had a pink kisser that turned into a hellraiser.

Discus: meh
Cichlids: awesome!!

A friend of mine used to have a slightly larger (55 gal) tank, and was able to keep a thriving, well-balanced cichlid community in there for several years... never a dull moment! The variety alone was interesting... he had:

2 Convicts
1 Florida Gar
1 Jack Dempsey
1 Red Devil
1 Pike
1 Plecostomus

I recommend cichlids too, much more lively and entertaining than Discus.
