My New Lens, And The Moon

Last weekend, a friend gave me his Canon 100-300mm lens. He wasn't using it because he has a 500mm lens... :o

It has been hot lately and the apartment is still hot this evening, so I was outside where the air had cooled off. I saw that the moon was out and an idea popped into my head. I messed around a bit and here is a photo I took, cropped, and resized.

I tried experimenting with different exposures, but I couldn't get it any sharper. But still, it isn't too shabby, eh?

300mm, 100 ISO, 1/200, & f/5.6

Good work fellas. I just tried it with mine.

What i do when i shoot low light scenarios....is that i put the camera on a 2 second delay. That way when you press the shutter, the shake doesnt show on the picture.

Not a bad first effort :)....was this handheld or on a tripod?

Here's something I put together in terms of exposure times....

Yes, I was using a tri-pod and the timer to minimize shaking
