Been making a lot of progress recently... finally had three warm days in a row, so we started brushing epoxy primer on the steel. Before:

..and almot done (finished it today, except for a few small areas that will need welding). Doesn't look so pretty up close, but it's better off than it was before. In the first shot you can also see the almost-complete fiberglass work on the nose (needs a little glazing now tha it's been primed). Same deal: not perfect, but about a jillion times better.

More before & after: The seat pans are wood, except for the back of the front seat. hey were in bad shape, so I re-made them out of some nice marine fir ply, which I clear-coated with spray polyurethane. You'll never see the uner the cushions, but it made me happy to do this. This part is the lower part of the front seat.

Took a break yesterday to check out this visiting Stinson L-108- the pilot made a wheel landing in blustery wind and stopped for fuel, on his way from New Hampshire to Florida.

Good morning all... :)

Great project you got yourself into Sean...still looks like you folks have a lot to do yet and here is hoping the weather stays nice for you all.
When you start the recover will you post more shots please.

Makes me want to hum and sing the theme song from "Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines".   ;D

Have a great day.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
P.S. Grounded...both birds in hangar, field soft and that all day rain didn't help yesterday...oh well Spring is in the air.
