Trivia point that someone may be able to answer (I can't)...
Obviously us Brits know the NA T-6 family as the Harvard in UK service. The USAAF called it the Texan in it's T-6 guise, but did the USN also officially call their SNJ (as shown in Mic's shot above) the Texan too, or was it simply known as the SNJ?


Although it's in USN markings this one (G-TEXN) is actually an AT-6G Texan currently operated by the Real Flying Co at Shoreham. I found a detailed history of G-TEXN including the development history of the type. http://www.thunderprop.co.uk/T6.htm

Ah yes, on deeper reading it's the aircraft in which Euan English was killed in 1995 (just after he'd bought one of the BBMF's Spit XIXs).
