Mmmh! I just ordered a T-Ring adapter for my Canon this afternoon so I could start some contrail spotting. :P

What model telescope are you using, Dave?

Great Dave. Looks like you are all set. Now only if my parents would buy me a refractor. ;D

Looking forward to the results. I have a retractor and a D60, all I need is the barlow, how much was it if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks all! I have been meaning to get the adapter set for my camera for a while. It consists of the T-Ring adapter and the barlow. Both pieces came to a total of $70.00.
Will post shots when "the planets align"1  ;)

Looking forward to seeing the results... but is it me, or is there an alignment isue there? Almost looks like the weight of the camera's power pack is causing that first tube to droop a little. That's the problem when stuff like that isn't threaded- even if it's a good fit, there's always a little play.

Yes Sean, a tiny bit. There are a few adjustments to bring the camera head a little closer. I will need to play with it once I have a moon ;-0
Once it is focused and set up, I will just compensate for any difference. Usually at that distance it is a very small "move" to make it align.

Forget the moon, think deep space. Get out into the country side and start looking for the other planets and even far off nebula. ;)

Ditto- that instrument is good enough for Jupiter (which is sill pretty high in the sky now, I think), Saturn, and distant stuff like the Orion nebula or the Pleiades. I'm sure if you found a spot near the south shore you'd have no trouble with those objects. Or maybe it's dark enough in your backyard?

I still don't have all the correct parts to mount a camera on my reflector... :(  Not that it matters now, where I live.... >:(

I'd take the 'scope out to some remote dark place, but every time I try that, it rains... :'(
