A bit fresh at work yesterday. Tomorrow should be fun, a couple of feet of snow forecast, have to wait and see what actually comes. On the way to work this morning my car informed me it was minus 16 degrees C. It had warmed up by the time I got to work.............minus 12 ;D

Cool shots!

Lucky you, we haven't seen any snow here for the last 2-3 years...

How long does a de-ice treatment last? (As in, how long before another treatment must be given to the aircraft?)

:)

That is like the question, how long is a piece of string. It all depends on the mix that the pilot requests and the temperature. These two factors then produce a table called the "hold over time". This table then tells the pilot how long he has between application and then takeoff. Below is an example.

In short, never very long.

I presume putting on a kettle then pouring that over the wings is against FAA regulations then.

Nice photos. Looks like a job which could take a while.

What a splendid collection of shots! The first and last one really stand out. Another sneak-peak on the activities on an airport. It's great to have you as a guide!

Do you have the honour of doing the spraying part from time to time... must be a cold job!

Do I have the honour ;D ;D I have done it for one winter before the regulations where changed at a different company. It actually involves a day in front of an overhead projector (death by view foil ;D) and a written exam. Good news, in EDLP, the baggage guys do it :D
