Protecting my LCD

So I got the lovely Rebel XS (EOS 1000D) and I've taken a good 500 photos so far haha.

Just one thing I am finding is that I am managing to rub my nose all over the LCD each time I take a photo. Dust is getting on it a bit and yeah, all that.

I have some LCD protectors, but the sizes to cut out from are not the same sizes as my screen... It's all for PDAs etc. I mean, the people at the shop said it would work, but yeah, obviously not unless I cut it myself and probably muck it up.

Any tips on what I should do or get?

Cheers

Pretty simple.........stop using your left eye........

Use your right eye, not the left one on the viewfinder......nose should clear the LCD screen and maybe the entire camera that way......

This is also beneficial when doing some motion shots from the left......you can open both eyes and see your subject coming before it enters your field of view in the viewfinder......

I rarely use my left eye.

Usually my right, depending on the angle I am holding the camera at.

But cheers.
