Die hard gliding (and spotting)- pt 1 of 3
Gusty x-wind almost put a damper on things today, but it was not too bad when the sun peeked out and warmed things up. I got two loggable flights in today; even practiced boxing the wake, which I haven't done in a while. I got some really good shots today, too... but these aren't them.
(see pts 2 and 3).
I was very surprised to see banners being dropped today... must have been for a football game or something.
Patsy running the wing for Greg going solo.
Here's Patsy on a later flight with Herb towing.
A good breeze will get you off the ground early, especially solo. Greg had a bit of a fight on this one, but got up OK. The crab seen here is correct for a crosswind, although it looks crazy. Once Herb got the Citabria climbing, they both settled into a crab together.
Rather busy today, early on... a C182RG departs right on the heels of a tow, with arriving traffic in sight to the west.
Pat rolling out in the 2-33 after a good flight.

A very nice Cherokee arriving on 25.
