I hope it's not moving too close to you. What is a solar boat competition. Well, I can guess what it is, but how does it work? Were you in it? Sounds cool.

The first have been under control for the most part but dry weather and bits of wind are not helping. SOCAL seems to have a grasp of the fire storm at hand so the panic is dying down hopefully. :o

I have a friend that lives in Diamond Bar and she said that the fires were pretty close to her development but, then between the firefighters and the wind it was turned away and then contained.

Im suprised there still going on now.
Although ill never forget summer of 08 with all the fires  :o...
I live in the Bay Area abour 30 mins away from San Fransico and for about 3-4 weeks we had smoke everywhere near us to. Of course not as bad as anything like them but you could smell it sometimes but of course an advantage was that it wasnt so hot outside for awhile.

It says "wood burning" items, so I will just have to stop using hickory chips on my coals.  Also says first time offendors will receive a warning, so I get at least one more shot!

Honestly I don't think the hickory chips over the coals will be affected, but if they are, it's very typical of San Francisco (Nanny State) to do this kind of ban.  Glad you posted this though, I had no idea this was getting passed, guess I'll stick to just coals until I get some deeper details.
