Great shots, Mark.
Just wait 'til you're allowed to sit in the front seat.

Thanks for all the comments, Ya the front seat would be fun, I think I could go now if I wanted to rent a plane, he has his PPL, he is working on his instrument rating. His CFI told me Saturday that he was almost done with instrument, he has only be doing the flying part of instrument for 3 month, so he will be starting commercial shortly. He has another lesson today, My business is slow, so I might tag along and see if I can sit in again. Watch for pictures. The problem with back seat pictures is that I'm not getting any spotting time. ;D Mark

Interesting learning IF in a "single screen" glass cockpit aeroplane. I'd imagine the switch from the IF instrument scan in a "conventional" cockpit to IF in a glass would be reasonably simple, but vice-versa, I'm not too sure.
It'd be interesting to find out.

Very cool though!

PS - no need for IFR goggles/foggles in that weather!

When I first flew with the glass cockpit it took a little while to get used to. The scan and way the information is presented is different. I have less than 10 hours using the G1000 and it took me a few hours to learn all the features. Switching from the glass to a "conventional" cockpit can mess you up because of little things the G1000 does automatically like turn your transponder on.

Good morning Matt...

Very nice pictures and indeed the cockpit looks good. ;)
Getting actual IFR conditions is a bonus and great training.
Good Luck and Have Fun.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

My instructor told me when I started that actual was not a requirement but it makes it more fun.

The first approach we did was a GPS and when we leveled off at the minimum descent altitude I looked up and saw we had not broken out of the clouds yet. Then shortly before reaching the missed approach point we broke out of the clouds and the runway was right in front of us. It is one thing to do it with foggles on but it is so much better when actually breaking out of clouds and seeing the runway.
