...love the spare wheel on the back of the Sidecar... ;)...

...not much use if the Bike had a flat Tyre though.. :'(...!

.... ;D....!

I was guessing the Bike might have been a 1940's German Zundapp, horizontally opposed Twin Cylinder, (like a BMW), but the Bike there looks too modern, (frame, forks, and brakes).

F.... 8-)...!

Looks like a WWII-like BMW to me, but hey, what do I know about bikes...  ;D

Interesting urban-developement, judging by that first shot... That landrover must have quit some grip! LOL!  ;D

I thought there had been at least two volvos since that 'liftback' thing that followed the same concept - the volvo 480 'coupe' or 'liftback' similar in appearance and the current C30, which although not quite a 'liftback' has undertones of both the 480 and the 1800ES....

Or was it somthing else that volvo never tried again?

The 1800ES is just the "station wagon" version of the 1800 coupe (like Roger Moore used to drive on The Saint TV series).

I kinda like 'em- a friend of mine owned one of each, and when the coupe got creamed at a traffic light (idiot in a SUV on his phone), we pulled the engine and trans out of the coupe and put it in the ES (which had a tired engine and leaky auto trans).

They look classy and last forever if well-cared for, but I find the ergonomics a little awkward... the wheel seems to be right in my face.

And it's not exactly a high-performance sports car: drives like, well, like a Volvo. :D

PS- good ol' Land Rover- you can roll 'em over like that and they don't mind at all.  ;)

Did you know that the P1800ES was called "Schneewittchen-Sarg" (=Snow White-casket) in Germany?  ;)
