We've got a regular flying circus going on during these Sunday gatherings... the Champ and Breezy did a fun circuit in formation.

There was another local Champ flying today, but I didn't get the camera out in time... so here's Six Two Echo again. ;D

Pat had to of course fly a hop in the Breezy rather than taxi it back to the hangar at the end of the day, so I insinuated myself in the back seat. ;D We took off just as the last 2-33 training flight arrived, landing on the grass the other way, as there was no wind to speak of at that point.

There was a problem with the second helmet 'n'goggles, so I opted to tough it out with no protection. The O-320 barking behind me wasn't too bad, and it was kinda fun the way the wind made my eyeballs wiggle if I faced right into the slipstream. :D
Good thing there were no bugs... :D

Good shots Sean... ;)

Have you a close up shot of the "Breezy" and do you know of any flying with the air cooled VW engine from the old Beetles?

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

There's some closer-up pics here of 4JP, but if you only google "Breezy" you should be able to find a pic of a VW-powered one, if there is such a version. The type might be a tad too heavy for such a powerplant, though...

4JP has a Lycoming O-320, which is what I've seen on all the other ones I've seen up-close.

Thanks for the link Sean.

Yes we have had several Breezies here powered by the old VW Beetle air cooled engine.  Probably that is what first powered them.
