Great shots...

Looks like everyone is having fun.
Sean, what is the cost of a Glider Endorsement or Licence now and how many hours does it take?
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
The cost will vary- I joined a club, so there is no rental fee for the glider, and the instruction is "free" also. For the tow, I pay $10 plus $1 for every 100 feet before release... typical tow to 3000 costs $40. For that $40 I might get 1/2 hour or (later when i get better at this ) 5 hrs (or more).
Not sure what fees are involved for the check ride, etc for the Private Pilot- Glider, but for me, as a holder of a PP- Airplane ticket with more than 40 hrs solo flight logged, the only requirement I need to take the glider check ride is 10 solo flights, of any duration, and of course a passing mark on the written and oral exams.
Without my powered-plane ticket, I'd need a minimum of 20 aero tows and 7 hours of solo flight.
I haven't figured out the estimated cost for me, mostly because it all falls under the club buy-in and monthly dues: $1000 to get in (part ownership of the two gliders) and $400 dues for the year (which includes, unofficially, time in the Champ, the L3, the Tiger, the Citabria, etc...

I'm sure I'll solo soon (got about 10 tows so far and nearly as many hours of dual) and should get the PP-G before the end of the season.
