Tuesday afternoon at 47N-part 1
I was slated for a few hours of work in the evening, so I went to the airport early hoping to get up in the glider. Wound up waiting a while until there were enough of us there to do a tow, but it was a very pleasant wait...
Spent some time sitting on top of my car by the glider tie-downs, watching some pilots work with a mild but direct x-wind.

Speaking of Grummans...
When Mike showed up, we were still waiting for Herb (stuck in traffic), and he mentioned he'd be taking his new baby for a quick hop. I told him I wanted a look at it before he took off...
Don't worry; the hangar will be fixed up before winter; it was empty and neglected for some time before he acquired this Tiger.
The paint and panel are about a year old... excellent panel.
Naturally, I was offered a ride, and got to fly it a bit as well. My first time with a Grumman, and I liked it.
Here we are above the pattern on the way back...

Next: part 2- a little gliding
