Oshkosh '08: part 13(last)

Our IFR departure reservation was for 1:30 PM, but it took a little while to get out of there.

It sure was hot back there as we taxied and waited!! :D

This Mu-2 was next in line...

And I spied this excellent  Basler-converted DC-3 just before we departed.

The Mu-2 passed us pretty quickly on climbout... can you see it?

Farewell, KOSH... wish I'd had more time to spend there.  :'(

The return trip was nonstop to KUNV; pretty good weather most of the way but we did get into some stuff upon reaching the Michigan shore... hold on, here we go!

An interesting shot, if not very clear... ;D

Who can guess what this is (clue: it's near Detroit)?

You won't see water textures like this in any sim...

Soon we were over Pennsylvania, descending in late-afternoon sunbeams.

Pradeep brings her in on final at KUNV... I got to fly the last 1.2-hr leg to KMMU, but unfortunately didn't get any pix.

My guess would be either Ford's or GM's proving grounds.

Interesting shots. You know, we can get pretty close to that in the sim. Although I have not purchased it, I have looked at a payware addon called Enviornment X. Looks pretty close to what we see in your photo.

You didn't by any chance bump into Patty Wagstaff during the week?
