Weston Helidays 2008 Day 1

Postby FsNovice » Fri Jul 25, 2008 2:36 pm

Not been feeling great the last few days, man flu etc ;), so wasn't going to go to the first day of this airshow, but so glad i did.

Basically, this helicopter extravaganza is organised by the weston Helicopter Museum, and aims to raise money for local charities and itself and provide some decent helicopters and displays in the bag.
First up was this german military Seaking, and for those who don't speak german, the text on the side of helicopter in the second shot reads "50 years of SAR(search and rescue)"

Next up is this training helicopter, flown down by instructors on this type, from RAF valley, in North Wales

A Bell 206B JetRanger II registered to Weston Power distribution, hence the electricity sign on its livery, on the beach doing pleasure flights around the bay and a bit beyond

And to round off todays offering, just about the weirdest helicopter at the show today Ben Cope's Bug MK4. It didn't fly alas, its just a prototype

Hope you enjoyed this photos, i hope to go up again tommorow and sunday to get some more. This is merely a selection, in the 5 hours i was there, i clocked up 229 photos.

Regards

How on earth did you get sunburnt when the sun was only out for about 20 minutes :P

nice shots....I didn't go inside this year...spent the best part of 5 hours sat on a bench next to the two red flags (approach).....the last 2 were waiting for the bloody CH53  ;D ;D

.mic

PS...I love the livery on that seaking....one of the best I've seen....shame I was too late to catch it arriving :(

I dunno  ;D

I missed the CH53, saw it flypast but had to go to catch the bus and they hadn't even come by road by then to do the site recky so there was no chance of me getting that!

Ah well, up there tommorow and sunday hopefully as well.
