MAAM WWII'08: part9- Corsairs, Avenger
Only one TBM there, but it was a good one: the MAAM's "Old Tanker #9", which served for a time as a firefighting aircraft, but was restored back to its military configuration. This type of torpedo-bomber was a mainstay of the US Pacific Fleet in WWII... a very important airplane.

A peek inside the hatch at the radioman's berth... roomier than I thought, but I'm not sure I'd want to be stuck in here for a carrier trap... let alone a torpedo run, with a hail of AA coming at you!! :o
Then again, the radio man was probably glad he couldn't see what was ahead...
She flew quite a bit; too bad I don't have a better picture of that.
Yummy... I first saw this ol' gal at the now-defunct sussex Airshow many moons ago, and she still looks and flies great.
We were blessed with two flying Corsairs...
I don't know the identity of this one; I showed it flying wioth Sky Boss in an earlier post.
