MAAM WWII'08: part 1- misc.
The WWII weekend is really two shows: an aviation show and a WWII memorabilia/re-enactment show. Two full days would be needed to take it all in, and I had one day. But I did swing through the huge military encampment area; some nifty stuff there.

A German tripod-mounted gun of some kind... no aircraft in range, oh well.

Just a small sample from the dizzying array of items displayed here every year.

Mmmmm... K rations....

Now here's a nice setup: very expensive fluid-head tripod and proper shotgun mic, used with a mid-priced camcorder. No screaming kids or rambling announcer on his tapes, I'll bet...
Ducked into the display hangar to cool off and see what's new this year... saw this cool sim enclosure, which is very similar to the one at the Teterboro museum which inspired the basic idea of my simpit.
This one is painted almost the same color onside as mine... but I did a neater job of it, LOL.

I have a bunch of snaps of military vehicles, but they'll come later...
