I sure hope none of you all expected an airplane.

awww.
I have a westie myself. Absolute nightmare to get his face clean though. He seems to prefer the muddy chin look. ::) :D

Oh, Piper is a joy to have around, though a pain to live with at night.

*squirrel goes across the fence making little to no noise*

WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF for 20 minutes, or one of us goes down there ;S.

I love her though =).

They are great dogs to have around, no need for a vacuum cleaner with her around!

Does yours have a tendancy to be very protective of things?
Mine will litterally take your ankles off for instance if you get too close to his little stash of toys and treats. :D

Lovely dogs Westies ...... but it sounds like you and Craig have dogs that need a little training.
Barking at night is not good unless you have someone trying to break in or a fire. When you go down to her you are rewarding her for barking, so it's best ignored. She'll eventually get the message that barking gets me nowhere so why bother.
As for the possessiveness, that is bordering on the dangerous, you should be able to take anything out of your dogs possession without fear of being bitten. A small amount of professional training or advice will help with that problem.

My two Labs aren't perfect but at least I know I can handle them even when they have toys or food in front of them, I can remove either without any aggression being shown, they know who's the boss. I equally know that my step kids and the toddlers that my wife child minds are able to take stuff off the dogs without any fear. You may say that is down to the dogs personality and breed, it's not, it's down to training and any breed can be trained out of aggression, even some of the notoriously aggressive breeds.

Well, we can get her to do anything unless WE'RE fighting, in which case she will get aggressive and we have to stop her.

She isn't a problem though, and she just 'enhances' life.

xD.
