Maybe too easy for the former pilots of these fine birds.........

Maybe slightly different from the UK counterparts, this is a late 50's vintage RCAF D.H. Chipmunk. Sold off in 1973 to first non-military owner, who sold it to the seller in these photos. This is the man who also owns the Mudry Cap 10. He now has a Mig of sorts to put on amphib floats. From what he told me, it's a bit like a Wilga. Anyone got any ideas of what it may be. I didn't really have time to get any info as I was leaving when he started to tell me......

.....on with the shots........

New buyer, wiping down his new acquisition............

And you better keep it clean, or I'll come and take it back !

My apologies if the shots aren't up to par, but I don't keep my SLR on the bike, so all I have to shoot with at a moments notice is my point 'n shoot Casio........better than no shots at all, I guess....... :-[

Really nice, but I still like them better with the UK-version canopy!  :P  ;D  ;)

New buyer, wiping down his new acquisition............

He'll need a plentiful supply of rag. They don't call it a Dripsy Major for nothing.

It's a very smart aeroplane but that nose cowling looks like it's had a major repair job at some time.

Either a Technoavia SM92 Finist or a Yak-12 / PZL Gawron.

Aha! I knew it... mostly because I looked up the reg. (clearly visible in that first post... ever notice how many planes have the reg. # placarded where the pilot can see it easily, in case they forget as they key the mic?)

;)

So... when are you going for a ride?  ;D

That's right, I forgot...  :(

But Chippies are pretty common up there; you'll get in one eventually.
