Stearman Flying at Jabara
Posted: Tue May 27, 2008 12:26 pmSo there I was, sitting in the pilots lounge watching Lewis Hamilton win Monaco because there were no airplanes to be seen for miles to fuel, when I heard a radial engine. It was a PT-17 out of Lloyd Steaman Field in Benton, Ks. When he landed me and the customer service girl sweet talked our way into a ride.
Sitting on the ramp
Rolling down 18. The weather had improved by the time I went up
Right turn out to the NW practice area. (Here at KAAO we fly right hand into 18 to avoid Beech Factory traffic)
"Wanna do a barrel roll?"
Of course
Also did a hammer head and 2 clover leaves (like an exaggerated chandell) to line us up to the runway

Over flew the field then cut hard right to a down wind, base then final
