Camera phones a curse or and opportunity
Having spent the last week in hospital..........had my tonsils removed and at the age of 40 I can assure you all it is no fun at all (it took me 1 hour 20 minutes to eat a soft boiled egg and a slice of bread this morning
), anyway away the sympathy digress, after all in the dictionary, sympathy comes between sh#t and syphilis
I will get to the point. Naturally I did not have my camera with me, just my mobile/cell/handy. My father in law picked me up and on the way home, at some traffic lights in the town a helicopter went over head very slowly at about 100 feet. It touched down just as we passed. I was able to get a quick shot.

No accident to be seen, but opposite is a factory, I assume an industrial accident as the hospital is just around the corner. This type of chopper in this livery is know as "Christoph 13". Named after a boy, Christoph who was critically injured in a road accident at the age of 13. A rescue helicopter would have saved his life, but at this time Germany did not have them. His parents campaigned tirelessly to change this. End result is in the picture. I believe there is quite a fleet of them now. Maybe a German member could add to or correct me, but that is my understanding of them. Just about the only aircraft that can fly VFR in a straight line from take off to patient and if that means a 747 on go around, around he goes. This baby has priority..............and when you are on base leg in a glider and over the radio comes his call, it gets interesting, but that was many years ago and another story.
