Starshooting during the weekend...

It did cost me a fair amount of cash, but I invested in the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 to complete my concert-shooting gear...

Went out to test it this weekend and enjoyed myself a lot!

The buying fase is over... I have all I intended, except maybe a macro-lens, but the funds are gone!  ;D

Kris, I've said it before and I'll say it again...

You should seriously start to consider taking up concert photography as a profession. Your shots would not look out of place on a CD cover or a promo poster.

Wow.

I can say from personal experience that thats actually a pretty good method to get sound from an amp that doesn't have an output.  Quite fun aswell  ;D

So speaking of lenses, Ive been looking from something to bridge my 18-55 and my 75-300.  missing that 55-75, although small, gets rather annoying after awhile. Don't suppose you have any recommendations for someone on a budget?

Its called a cab i believe, once played with such a set-up, but it was done rather lousy and bad, so half of the time i couldnt hear what i was playing, the drummer couldnt even hear the rest of the band :o.

Great shots Omag!

Thanks for the info,  May look into that 55-250mm. I have a tamron already and would like to get into some cannon lenses.

And my budget was about $200-$300 US. Its late and don't feel like finding conversions right now  ;)

Also,

Pepper, I have heard a few bands that actually use that as their style, why I don't know. But if the drummer was on an acoustic set (as I assume he would be) they often have a very difficult time hearing others just from their own noise. Only a decent monitor would be able to fix that problem.  Then of course the other issue may be is the sound Tech had no idea what he was doing and just threw some stuff on stage to get some sound going.  :D

Seriously, Kris. This looks like professional work. Well done. :)

What's the name of the band, by the way?

Thanks for the kind words...

The band is called The Expendables. They are a coverband, but made up out of the members of several livebands. I saw a lot of them performing this summer and I just knew they were good.
