So, today was the final fly in at Twin Pines (N75) in Pennington. Well. It was supposed to be. It was "rained out" until tomorrow, even though it was clearing this morning, and supposed to be rainy tomorrow. ::)

Oh well. One visitor flew over, as landing on the field is prohibited.

Cute little Culver Cadet.

Sad end to this Viking. You can see, the flora actually grew up through the floor. The inside is rotted out.

ABE the other evening... Stupid chain link fence. ::)

And one to make up the weight, DL 764 heading for ATL probably.

It's almost airshow season! I left a glass full of JP5 under the tree for Airshow Claus.

I found out they moved it to Sunday so I might try to get up there in the morning for a little bit. If it looks like rain I probably not go.

Yeesh, I just heard about this closure... and Solberg is now threatened, too. >:(

I'd like to be there but I just dropped off the car today with the mechanics... ::)

Solberg has been threatened for the last few years under eminent domain. While I'm not fond of the people who run the place (the Solbergs), it's a shame to see the airport being close to run over by the government.

That's an Aeromatic prop, an interesting old design that is self-adjusting according to airspeed. Delivers almost the same performance as a controllable-pitch prop, minus the weight and complexity.
