The trained eye may recognize this constellation as Orion. Seen from my backyard, as usual...  ;)

I say good evening to him almost every night I see him and tell him happy hunting!! ;)

I see his belt is tight so his pants won't fall down!! :D

That's exactly what i looks like here in SOCAL on a clear day without the city lights blocking the views. Very nice capture with the sun and all ;)

Wow.  8-)
I miss being able to look at the nebulae hanging from his belt with my 'scope... Newark wastes a lot of light.  >:(

Stargazing out my way is very rewarding. Lots of fun with a thermos of coffee around 2am. :P

Great photo too, Kris. I too, need to pick up a tripod. I lost the mount to my current one. ::)

One word... WalMart.  You can get a decent one for about 20-30 bucks.

Excellent shot Omag.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Excellent!

Good ol' Orion is much clearer up at my neck of the woods...

Much bigger looking too!

Although, personal view and what the camera sees are two different things ;)

Unfortunatly no sun, but light pollution... there was a bit of fog on the ground and that sure collected the light from a city nearby...

exif:

iso 800
f 4.0
exposure 8 seconds
focal length 32 mm

Followed by noisereduction and brightness reduction to bring Orion out more, as it was engulfed in lots of other stars.

Wow cool, im going too give it a try very soon too, so far only shot the moon. Unfortunatly i live in a densly populated area, so there is always a lot of light polution.
