The weather cleared up today, so I just had to go out with my camera...

I decided to head out into the countryside, to show you guys something of my daily surroundings. At just 2,5 miles from where I live stands Poeke Castle, founded around 1597 - 1600, build, rebuild and restored to become this amazing baroque castle, painted in a soft pink colour and surrounded by water.

Nobody. It's a protected monument.

Nice work Kris......but..........

Don't you just wish for a "shift lens" so you could stop the vertical sides of architecture from falling in as they rise to the top of the captured image.........I never had one, but always longed for one when I shot these kind of structures.......... :-[

This wasn't meant to be critical, .......I think you have a fine eye...... 8-)

This is the effect Im talking about......They have lenses which have moveable front elements to allow this to be done in camera......

Yep, that's the problem with wide angles. I'm still experimenting with it, so next time I'll take a few steps more away from the building, so I can zoom in a little. That should take care of things...

How did you change my shot? What program?

You can do that in Photoshop Elements Kris. ;)
Filter/Correct Camera Distortion

PS. Depends on the shot but I sometimes prefer the perspective effect.

Although I use Photoshop CS, I believe it should be possible to get this in Elements.

Doug is basically correct here Kris, but I didn't use any filter on the manip. What I did was pull a selection around the area I wanted to affect. I then right clicked to bring up the " Selection Menu" and chose "Free Transform". That will bring you to where I have shown my image. A right click on here gets you the menu I have displayed (This is the Free Transform Menu).

This is how it's done in PS Elements 6.0. http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/da-omag-poeke8.jpg

Adjust the Vertical Perspective slider as necessary.

There's no selection tool on the toolbar so I would say no. I haven't had the software long (free trial) & only just started playing with it. Note the other options on the menu which give you almost unlimited possibilities.
