All over mendip today

Anyhow, went out for a walk today on the Mendips, only a 6 miler, with the family, and got some rather interesting shots(i thought so at least) of the landscape, which is very much changed by mining here in the previous centuries.
These photos were, to add context, taken relatively close to blagdon roddey,which i posted previously

This black gravelly stuff you can see is leftover slag from the furnances that were here from the mining days
The ground round here is very uneven to say the least, although there are several paths that are pretty flat
