For a moment I thought you showed us The Golden Gate bridge, but that's not exactly your area, is it?  ;)

Very nice.  I love being up north, and it doesn't get much better than flying in the north. 8-) :)

Yes...  :)

Did you read the last post in the thread that this is a reference for ? I'd have added the photos there, but it would have popped the thread limit...

Just wanted to give you some food for thought  :)

Yah, eh' ?

I've been fortunate to have flown all over the eastern 1/2 of the country... and there's still no place as fun as the U.P. for relaxed, GA sightseeing. The islands, the bays, the rivers, bridges, lighthouses.. the friendly airports..

@ Falcon...  Did you just whip that up ?  Looks like with some modest texturing, it will make an excellen, FPS-friendly bit of scenery  :)

Having those little highlights makes all the difference.. A ship here, an bridge there.. a port here and there..  8-)

I agree 100%, I've been around the world 5 times and have yet to see anything like the U.P.   Can't wait to visit home again!! (this summer hopefully, it's been a year now since my last visit and 6 years since I have been home in the summer)

Can't remember if I told this story here yet, but my wife (who is from Tuscaloosa, Alabama) and I were flying into Sawyer Intl (former K.I. Sawyer AFB) last March to visit my parents in Escanaba and she was looking out the window, asking me where all the roads were, I showed her the snow covered dirt paths in between all the trees and told her those were our county roads, she couldnt believe it haha!!  Thanks for the pics again, a great taste of home!!

That name rings a bell...

How about Walsh, Growdon, Nyquist, Sundstrum, Gafner or Shipman ?

Edit:  My cousin ran the Dog Patch restaurant, in Munising.. I'm sure she's long since retired, but her son, Billy might be running it now.

YES my mom and I used to go to the dogpatch for crab legs all the time (this was like 20 years ago) !!!  The snowmobilers haven!  (although I think Sharkies is the place to go now...)  Is Foggies still open?

I knew a Ryan Nyquist, and the Walsh name is familiar, I graduated class of 2000 at Esky High, so that's my age group for ya, names are starting to fade with me as far as my class goes...

Falcon, I lived in Marquette for 2 years while my mom got her degree at NMU, and usually went there every few weekends my senior year of High School for Marine Corps functions while I waited to ship to boot camp.   My first rapelling experience was on the back side of Marquette Mountain, nice cliffs back there.

So cool meeting some yoopers on SimV, small world eh!!
