Thanks for posting that - in the link you'll the the photo of the dedication - alongside the lighter blue of the RAF's padre, was (at the time) the CAF (not RCAF these days) exchange pilot from Linton.

How profound..........

"For their tomorow, we gave our today..."

Don't we all owe so much, to so many fine kids like these..........?

Unfortunately Ken, most of todays kids don't seem to think so, the older generation these days are generally treated with little respect & most people forget that the 'old boy' they've just berated for whatever reason, may well have been a Spitfire pilot or something during the war.

How quickly people seem to forget.

Great post Anark, very informative & a good reminder to us all. Well done on making the effort to go all the way up there in such bad weather, it certainly looks pretty bleak up there.

I'm sure they'd appreciate you tramping up there on such a godawful day just to pay your respects.
Must be a nice hike on a sunny day, though...

Thanks for the comments guys.
I'll go back up there on a better day to get some better pics and to show you what the view is like on a good day.
I forgot to mention that as soon as we arrived at the memorial we heard a prop fly over.
I know it was just a departure from EGNM but it was spooky.
Being up there in conditions almost exactly like when it crashed was a bit spooky too.
