:-/ I bought this year ago a small Kodak 5 megapixels with a memorycard 512, I can't understand why its a battery killer

Hi Alex. It would help to know the model number. Some of the older digicams eat batteries for breakfast but I would think they should last longer than that. According to your link it takes 2 x AA size batteries not AAA. This is the Kodak approved pack of 4 AA size Ni-MH Rechargeable Digital Camera Batteries which would give you 2 sets. You would also need a charger but these should not be expensive. Note what it says about the performance.

Batteries yield approximately 400 pictures per charge, re-charged up to 500 times.

Thats it although I really hate the resolution of the camera ,I'll buy the batteries I don't think Ill find Kodak rechargable batteries but anyother would be fine, You already answer my other question so rechargable batteries last the same or more than regular distarchables ones ..correct?

Recharcheable batteries won't last as long  IN  the camera, as regular batteries... but you can use them many many times.

They don't have to be camera specific, they just have to be the right-size. Camera specific batteries might hold a charge a bit longer, but I doubt it's much difference.

If you can't find a charger, you can fabricate one.

You've got a nice, stabe source of DC power right there in front of you (that's all I'm going to say)    

A simple pair of resistors for voltage division and patience while you test how long it takes to charge a dozen Ni-MH without cooking them, and you're all set  :)

You're not forced to use Kodak batteries. I posted that link as an example. Try to get high capacity rechargeables. I use 2500 mAh in my old Fuji S5000..

Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries should last considerably longer (per charge) in a high drain device like a digital camera than the standard non-rechargeable alkaline type due to the way they discharge. The non-rechargeable alkaline type lose their charge steadily & will soon run below the required operating voltage of the camera. Although they start off at a lower voltage the rechargeable Ni-MH type will maintain it until they're almost discharged, when they will suddenly quit. Of course, this will be affected by the resolution setting & how you use the camera. Rechargeable batteries will lose their charge much quicker than alkaline when not in use.
