Part 6

And For The Main Attraction, the Hughes H-4 Hercules, commonly known as the 'Spruce Goose'.


I had to take three photos and 'photoshop' them togather to get this

This is the tail section that is all unusable cargo space. It's bigger than the cargo space on a C-130! The tour guide told me that during the test flight, Howard Hughes had two engineers inside monitoring this area. During the short flight, there were structural problems, and the engineers feared that the tail section was going to come off.

I also didn't relize it was that big, the planes under the wing look like toys.

Just wonderful shots Andrew, you captured so much.  ;)

I think more museums need to be built to allow more natural light in, they seem to have done that well there.

Oh my :o

The DC-3 is a big plane... It looks like a toy next to that... THING ;D

Even the SR-71 from the other thread looked tiny :o
