Declared emergency

I'm not sure why this C-130 had to shut down and secure an engine, but it made for quite a stir at the flight school.  Hats off to the guys for making it down safely though.

At least they are safe, at my local airport two military helicopters blades hit each other about 10 ft off the ground and a blade when through a Cessna that had just been repainted :o, the crews of the helicopters where ok, thankfully :)

Thats neat, shame about the blur in the distance. That plagued me at the Midland airshow :(

Aye, once the engine was shut down and the prop was feathered (if it hadn't automatically) it would be little different to normal, albeit with a little change to power settings and rudder trim. All made slightly better as the asymmetric effect of losing the inboard of two is the preferred(!) failure. :)
