airventure 07-classics, etc- part 3
I'm on a roll here... one more for tonight.
A very proud and happy Cessna T-50 enjoying a very hot afternoon...
This stopped me in my tracks: if you think Bellanca Vikings are a rare treat, imagine this (if you've never seen one): another wooden wonder from Bellanca, the Cruisair. All wood, and all good. Wow.
A Beech 18 appears from the cloudy skies of the past and swoops down onto the runway.
A lot of outstanding Wacos this year: this Q series cabin plane probably requires matching golf shoes, which would be OK if you could land on the golf course.
A sportier kind of Waco Q... and a matching pair as well!! They are perfect!!
Gimme! Gimmee!!
Still reeling from the Wacos, I was not quite ready when this beast rumbled off the runway into the vintage tie-down area... the plane was immediately swarmed with admirers, and rightly so. This is a restored DH4, probably the only one still flying. Stunning.
The old Liberty V12 sounds great... those tires, someone pointed out to me, are front tires for farm tractors, with the center grooves sanded off.
