Got a lot of catching up to do...

Here's a few odds 'n' ends, to share the "vibe" of Airventure:


I made it! I really made it!! Almost didn't... but that's another story.

     


Airventure is a good place to find industrial-strength whimsy... here is one mild example. there's a whole side-show of classic and crazy scooters, motorcycles, campers, trailers... and minibikes.





Oh yeah... there's an airshow every day. Just like in Heaven.  :)

     



More whimsy: a hydraulic-powered replica Piper "go cart", built by Piper... the only one in existence, it was "lost" and found in a warehouse many years later, and restored by a shriners chapter.

     




The Spirit of Goodyear was droning around overhead pretty much nonstop all week... never did get over to the landing site to get some closer pics, oh well.

     


A camcorder still: the Aeromart, where you may find just about anything. I bought a bunch of cheap tools at another tent, and also found a Lear autopilot control head for $15.

     

One of a few horrific downpours... cooled things off a bit, and passed quickly.

I like the Goodyear blimp pic. I did not get any shots of it.

I second the blimp pic as pic of the month!

I do too, The blimp is a great shot.  :)
