They're at it again

Postby Aerophile » Sat Jul 07, 2007 11:02 am

Looks like the local Bonanza flying club is at it again.  Beautiful weather this weekend though...

...so far.

There's one more up there with them. I just couldn't get him in the photo.

Here's some more.  I wish they would stay in right traffic.  They stayed there for 2 or 3 passes and then went into left traffic.  Right traffic puts them right over my house.  I had a little bit better background scenery for this one.  I took this about an hour after they stopped their last run.  My wife griped at me cause I stopped mowing the yard to take some pictures.   ::) This was the only decent one out of the lot.  The shutter speed was to fast.  I guess I should just keep it on Auto instead of using the Sport setting. :D Enjoy...

Same goes for the ISO level as well, hence the grainy appearance. ;)

Thanks!  I have a hard time understanding all that stuff.  Here's a dumb question, but what exactly is ISO? I have a decent understanding of shutter speed priority and aperture priority.   ISO is something I have a hard time finding explanations for.  But then again I haven't looked to terribly hard either. Any free websites you can refer me to would be appreciated as well. Thanks again!

I know how to apply it in a practical situation, but I couldn't begin to explain how it works.
Try http://www.photoxels.com/tutorial_iso.html instead. ;)

I think the grainy appearance also has to do with the fact I sharpened the photo in photoshop.  This one looks a little better.  I wish they would have held a tighter formation.  The guy on the left there has a hard time keeping up.

A tighter crop...
