An honorable adversary is also featured: a Kawanishi "George". Note the PBY in the background.... two, actually. One of them is cut up so you can easily see the innards (which were nearly impossible to photograph).

There's a ventral hatch in the rear of the PBY, so I was able to get this view... the amount of detail is amazing; nothing overlooked.

There is a fantastic lighter-than-air wing, but that stuff was very hard to photograph. Here's some artifacts from the ill-fated Akron, which broke up in bad weather off the New Jersey coast in 1933.

And the wheel and bell from the Los Angeles, the only US Navy rigid airship that was not destroyed in an accident. She was scrapped in 1939 after 15 years of service.

More "inter war" stuff here: a splendid Goshawk.

Yes, it's a shame I got there so late. This is one of those "every nook and cranny" kind of museums, with a full-blown art gallery and all sorts of models, memorabilia cases... even a recreation of a small-town main street, with fully-decorated period interiors,  ca. WWII. There's also a ton of stuff outside that I missed, not realizing until it was too late that there's a tram tour.
This visit was just a photo blitz...but I had a quick look at just about everything.  ;D
