Spent a little while on the public beach here in Biloxi, MS yesterday... quite amazing how far you can walk out before it gets  past your knees; not what I'm used to. I shot some underwater pix with a "disposable" 35mm, but we'll have to see what I caught with that. Here's what I caught with the ol' Kodak:

A crusty old conch shell...

I still don't know what this is, although I often see them up North... looks almost like a snake skin.

Image

Quite a few sailboats out beyond the drop-off...

Image

Also plenty of dead catfish on th beach for some reason.

A surprisingly intact crab; also dead:

Half of a porpoise jaw- I have seen them hunting in the channel just behind the casino.

Being inside the Keesler airspace, I was hoping for some good spotting... but all I got was this 172 crawling along the beach ...

Interesting walk along the beach, Sean......something I like to do, but have a hard time convincing Wendy to accompany me ........she thinks the stuff we find to shoot, isn't worth the time to take the shots and post them for the in-landers....... :-?

Thanks for the look at the Gulf coast findings.......... 8-)

#2 is actually egg sacks.  I have a bunch at my house, since I'm from south Mississippi.  I used to frequent that beach and sail all around the area.  Keesler doesn't have that many ops, just a couple of c-130 squadrons there.

I figured they were egg sacks... but what kind? Skate, or something like that? I seem to remember that being the case.

Saw another Herc doing t&gs today while I was at the seafood place on Division Street; too bad I didn't have the camera. Aren't the legendary "Hurricane Hunters" based there?

Depends on which Hurricane Hunters you are referring to.  The USAF squadron know as that is based there with their C-130J s.  The NOAA Hurricane Hunters are based in Florida I believe.  I believe those are skate or sting ray egg sacks.  My sisters used to bring them home all the time.
