..Was in town the past 3-4 days, so I ponied up the money and took my dad for a flight in a real plane :)

Needless to say just seeing the aircraft in flght was amazing, but the flight was just as much fun because the guy who was supposed to take the co-pilots seat didn't show up and I ended up paying a little more and flying right seat :) In the end the pilot let me do a few simple manuevers with the aircraft which was very cool in my book!

Well done Jared...you actually got some hands on time on a real aeroplane, were you in the right seat at start up?

Still got all the fillings in your teeth and you can still hear okay I hope.   ;D LOL

I am sure you have been in more modern spam cans so did you notice the smell of an older aircraft?  They have a distinct odour to them....quite pleasing I find.  :)

Darn my mind has gone blank for the moment, can't remember where the carburetor heat control levers are in that aircraft now.   :-/

Looking for more shots if you have them...glad you both had a great time in a great aeroplane.  :)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

You lucky dog, must have been a thrill. Just curious, where did your dad sit while you were in the co-pilot seat?

Dad took one of the passenger seats in the back as he hadn't payed another 50$ for the opportunity to sit up front ;)

Thanks Jared now I remember...old grey matter needs a quick start once in awhile.  ;DLOL

I remember starting some old radials and they would shake so bad at start up you would swear they were going to break an engine mount.

That is what I miss the most, the rumble and the roar of the big radials.  The smoke, the smell and the vibrations were all part of the fun of flying.

Glad you got to enjoy some of that.

Well got to go, I have an evil bird here (must be an army or navy bird) an (airforce bird) would never poop on my spam can windscreen tied up at the dock.
This bird is soon going to be pike (fish) bait when I get down there after lunch.   >:(   ::)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
