It appears the southwest has now been hit by the same band of weather as the east. Portishead where i live came to a standstill as we got hit by an almightly flash flood. I managed to get a few shots, after riding through the midst of the storm to pick my sister up and wading back!!!!

got a few more good ones to post, but wanted to get some up quickly.
anyone else near Bristol got weather like this?

Us Bristolians got lucky, that weather man said we are going to get tons of rain and bad weather but the only rain we have had so far was just a few minutes ago and that only lasted 3 minutes.
Why did it have to flood a First Choice shop?!

I hope he dosn't make it back, what a stupid man/women! Should just stay in you'r house or somewere safe.
Well this stuff happens, but what can you do about :-/
Could of been much worse, but at least it dosn't get that bad here in this part of the UK.

Portishead was in the UK the last time I looked.

I was in Leamington Spa over the weekend. It was pretty bad there too.

Well, I assume that FsNovice's photos were taken in Portishead (near Bristol) some time today.

In my hometown, the river Trent burst it's banks on Sunday and flooded the washlands, but that's nowhere near as serious. :o

Most of it has now subsided. The fire service opened pretty much all the drains. It seemed a well drilled operation from the 1 police officer and the fire service to keep people safe. Many premises were flooded, but many wont find out till tommorow as they were already closed.

woah...we had torrential rains for about 45 minutes here yesterday and I thought the 6 inches of water on the roads was bad! Luckily it wasn't as bad as your rain happened to be cuz I had plans with my girlfriend! :-)
Hope all dries out!
