Perfect end to a lovely day

The end of another fantastic day at Old Warden but it's not over yet. I've always wanted to fly in a Maggie. Now it's about to happen thanks to a generous offer from a fellow enthusiast. I didn't believe it myself until I was strapped in the front cockpit of his beautiful aeroplane.

That big grin is still fixed on my face. 8-)

One of my favourite places from the air.

The airship hangars at Cardington.

In formation with the Shuttleworth Maggie. These are 2 of the only 3 airworthy examples in the world.

Thank you Mr. H. It doesn't get any better than this. ;)

Was there a crowbar involved to remove you from your seat after the flight?  ;)

Lucky you, Doug... looks awesome!  :)

Very happy for you, you lucky old so-and-so... but I could cry knowing that you probably didn't take the stick, even for a minute. Tell me you did... lie to me... :-/

I did take the stick & for considerably more than a minute. Hence the lack of photos. ;)

It was wonderful to fly in an open cockpit again. The last time would have been in a Tiger Moth back in 1962.

PS. A proper joystick mind, not one of them new-fangled yokes. :P
