Spotting at work-part 1

Had to run out to Lowe's for some wire nuts today, grabbed a drive-thru burger and copped a squat on the "back porch" of the casino to eat, camera by my side.

I was hoping for pelicans, but it was damn hot. They were probably hiding somewhere. Even the gulls were not eager to show off. Quite a few boats out today, though...

Gone fishin'.

This is a little tourist-trip shrimp boat... might be a fun thing to do. The shrimpin' season just started, BTW... I missed the annual shrimp boat pageant or whatver they call it here.

The yacht is nice, but that little cruiser is gorgeous, no? Quite the navigation suite, as well.

This boomer was already pretty big when I snapped this pic:

Here it is about 10 minutes later. Look at that updraft energy!!  :o

I'd take the cruiser over the yacht.  8-)

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip!!  :D

With the storm brewing and the boats it was the first thing to pop into my mind!!  ;D

Great shots, Sean!!

Will you be home by June 21st and 22nd?

LOL- "Little buddy...!"

Did you ever figure out why the Howells brought trunks full of money on a 3-hr day cruise?
Or exactly how the Professor made a radio out of a coconut?

:D

The wind was slammin' out of the south, so those buildups were no threat to vessels in that stretch of the Gulf (although they were liekley using that channel because the sea was bit choppy).

Regarding that weekend in June: thought I'd be here until July, butI'm not sure now. The project manager is in town for the week, and he mentioned  that they may send me back to NYC early (as in next week). I beefed, mostly as a knee-jerk reflex (3 to four 60-hr weeks down the toilet, so I can sit in the office and answer the phone... because he's sweating the budget on a job that could yield the biggest profit the company's ever seen... with freelancers who make more than I do sitting on-site for the duration?!?! why, I oughtta... )... he responded to that today with a wishy-washy assurance that I would probably remain until the place opens. So we'll see. I like this guy, but I don't like his management style. The site super, who has had to do everything in the absence of proper project management and engineering (and is doing a terrific job), is ready to kill somebody, especially since HQ has told him that the PM is going to "bail us out of this one" even though things are going well and all the PM does when he's on site is grill him on the veracity of everyone's time sheets and field e-mails about other projects. I don't think he's even met the GC or bought the elecricians lunch.  It's amazing.

Uh-oh... there I go...  I'll shut up now. ::)

That 'cruiser' is really nice, looks like an Aquador to me. Have loads of them at our boat park. Really nice solid boats, just not the fastest  :P

I've always wondered, if they can make a radio out of a coconut, why didn't they just try repairing the boat?

And why did Ginger have so many dresses??

The reason I asked if you will be back is because the P-38 Glacier Girl is going to finish her flight to the UK and one of their stops is at Teterboro.

Here is a little more info on it and I will be posting more info in Real Aviation about it.

Sean, I hope that sending you back early don't screw up your deal for Airventure.   Mark

Yes; I knew about that- forgot the date. Actually not on the weekend, eiher, which means that even if I am back home by then, I probably will have to be at work.

Here's what I'd like to know: when is it arriving at KTEB, and what time of day is the planned departure? I'm assuming it won't really be "on display" while there, as they no doubt will have a lot of work to do on it before starting the first leg.

Hope you can get up there to see it arrive or depart; if I'm not, I don't really mind... I'll be seeing her at Oshkosh, if all goes well on this long RT to the other side of The Pond.
