Patton Drivers

Postby deadkennedy » Tue May 29, 2007 3:42 pm

Here are some pictures I took last sunday at the Patton Drivers meeting in the small town of Ulbeek.

The Patton Drivers are a bunch of WW2 vehicles collectors. They buy old WW2 wrecks, restore them and keep them in driving condition.
During this meeting the whole town of Ulbeek was transformed into a large US Army camp. The members even dress up in WW2 uniforms, as you can see on my pics. On sunday there was a big parade with all kinds of trucks, jeeps, motorcycles and stuff.
Don't ask me the type's of vehicles, because the only one I know is the Willies jeep, maybe somebody can help?

I really like the Patton look-a-like, he looks mean, but he is actually a nice guy.

Here is Old Blood and Guts himself, starting the parade.

Excellent. I like the authentic wartime building in the last shot. LOL

Shame about the ever present hi-viz jackets...

My thoughts exactly. You beat me to it. You won't be allowed outside your front door without one soon. ::)

That's one of our  Belgian laws, when blocking streets for a parade, the people responsible for the traffic have to wear bright colored jackets.

Frank.
