Now for some interesting Continental types.

The Tipsy Belfair. I'm told this is the only surviving airworthy example.

Not an everyday sight. Two of these were on the field.

Another rare sight for me. The Zlin Trener.
Image

Not the greatest photo. I don't remember seeing one of these before.

These used to be a common sight at Shoreham. Not so many about now.
Image

Not seen one of these since the 1960s.

Nice Jungmann. Still very popular.

First of a long line of successful aircraft. The tiny Jodel D9 Bebe.

Nice to see the RACo taking part with Putzer Eltser. :) What exactly is G-BJEL?

Shame they didn't bring the Mew Gull. I heard it doesn't fly much now.

G-BJEL is a NORD NC854S. One lives at Popham & there was another one on the field on Sunday. http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/da-IMG_4332hn.jpg

(It's spelled "Elster" (magpie))

Rare sights there...not the best looking ones, but intresting nonetheless.

Well, after my single post about no air traffic in my part of the world, it seems that all the interesting fliers were posing in front of your camera .............well done Doug, and thanks for bringing us along with you........... 8-)

Thanks again for the comments. The weather can obviously make or break these events. It wasn't a classic G-VFWE by any stretch of the imagination (I saw something like 600 vintage aircraft on the field at Wroughton some years ago) but it was still a treat after the disappointment of the last two years.

Actually, the credit goes to Steven here.
