All right, here we go...

Several threads on "proper" aircraft, seen on the Stampe Fly-in at Antwerp airport ( EBAW)

This event yearly gathers lots of Stampe and Vertonge aircraft ( or SV's). They were succesfull trainingplanes, built on this location in Belgium and later on also in France.

As a crewmember stated today, they look a lot like Tiger Moths, but they are very different...  ;)

Enjoy these sample of some of the models that were present today...

In 1990 back in a previous life, I had learnt to glide and keen to get in as much a possible, got a good deal. To cut a long story short, if I drove the winch whilst guys from the army learned to fly, when I was not winching, the reward was as much K8 time as I could get. Well one lunchtime, a Stampe pitched up out of the blue and the pilot was offering trips. 20 Deutschmarks for 20 minutes. Best money I ever laid on the table 8-) 8-)
