Fokker & Nieuport

It's been a busy weekend for me. I took these at the International Microlight event at Popham on Saturday. A beautiful WWI pairing of the Fokker Dr.1 & Nieuport 17 leaving for an unknown destination before it got too crowded. Both are full-scale replicas based on the airfield but this is the first time I've seen the Dr.1. I know that the Nieuport was used in the film 'Flyboys'. It's quite possible they both were.

I have loads more photos from this event. Also a few from the first display of the season at Old Warden yesterday. I'll post a selection later.

Would have been nice to see these two in the air together Doug, we're expecting you to camp out on the airfield to capture that now  ;)

Looking forward to the OW shots, how did the weather hold out in the end?
