You would think that with all the U.S. Airways Jets getting repainted to the new colors this one would have been the first in line.

It's essentially the same plane. The main difference between the -500 and -300 was that the -500 had fewer seats. Good for low cost airlines like Southwest.

And the -500 is a few inches shorter, I think.

It pains me to see such a beautiful bird in such a condition.  Hopefully it will be heavy maintenance time soon and she'll come out with a sparkling new white and blue coat.
