It could be a RAF aircraft, but I'm not sure ;) ;D

Pass. It's certainly marked as a WW2 wartime aircraft, so it's either that vintage or post war being used a a prop to show the Queen Mary (?) trailer unit... :)

I'm thinking maybe a real Halifax wing, instead of ones from a Hastings.

Eh, I'm gonna go with a wing. Possibly from an RAF aircraft. WWII era. Could also quite possibly have RAF roundels on the top. Also possible for it to be painted in a green and brown camo scheme. There does that help identify?  ;D

You could be right, although an intact wing surviving would be very surprising - normally the fuselage sections only survive due to use by farmers! Without a decent top/3 view it's impossible to tell without asking them (if only this had been posted 24 hrs earlier I could have popped in as I drove past). A redecorated Hastings outer section (minus wing tip) seems most likely...

Solved. I cunningly went around t'other side of the trailer today. It is remarkably similar to a Halifax wing, as the other side is silver with a RAF identitiy which fits with the Hastings period - ie, it's off a Hastings! :)
